Which problem are you trying to solve?

Reduce the death toll and dismantling of families during the process of emigration.

How are you going to solve the problem?

Building a Gps module thin enough to fit an envelope and small enough to be carried in a pocket. At the click of an
button would send an emergency message to a NGO net alerting danger.

What is the impact of your project?

Crowdsourcing the development and costs of the process would would drastically reduce the death toll mainly on boat
capsize events in the mediterranean.

How can the project be manufactured in the OpenLab?

A full proof of concept of the design, software and off-the-self electronics could be designed in the openlab usign 3d
printing tools and basic hardware.

Describe your project in detail

2016 was the deadliest year in the Mediterranean with an estimate of 5000 deaths and more than one million making it
through. My project is a device that could call for emergency at the push of a button, the concept involves being an
easy to export/easy to use/easy to carry easily assembled gps module with an vhf antenna that would only be turned on
during the event. The fablab would aid the necessity of iterate through multiple designs until we get the most viable
project. The project could be a standlone or be used to charge up a smartphone and download from it the current location
from the mobile GPS, also there's a goal to make it upcycling used components avaiable in the targeted area.

Great project ... For the transmission of signals from the boat to the concerned parties we must use a long-range
transmission mechanism either using the Internet waves but it is the most difficult or the development of successive
columns to receive each signal column and send to the next mayor and of course these columns are installed on land

Looking forward to see more about your project! Do you have a first sketch of the design? Which materials should be used
(waterproof/tight)?

Nice , you should link more the ideas to make the process clear ! good luck !
