Which problem are you trying to solve?
Reusing rainwater to help with any around the house necessities of water.
How are you going to solve the problem?
Using a system that would collect the water and use a hydrogenerator to move it between tanks.
What is the impact of your project?
This water collection system would target any families or businesses that want to use renewable energy and water. There
is nothing on the market like this one.
How can the project be manufactured in the OpenLab?
Very easily with barrels, pipes and a hydro generator
Describe your project in detail
The project I have been working on is a Water Collection System that is connected to a garden irrigation system. The
system would be connected to the side of your house where 2 tanks and hydro generator would be connected. It all starts
with the collection of the water from the roof to the gutter. From there two pipes would be connected to the gutters on
each side, which would flow to tank 1. Both tanks would range from 300-500 gallons. Once tank one is full the hydro
generator between the the two tanks would pump water from one to the other. Tank 2 would them be connected to a pipe
that would be connected to the irrigation system for the garden.
Comments
Nice idea.
Is it's sole purpose the generation of electrical energy though? My guess is,
if that if this is true, the energy output would be quite small:
In mid Europe you get about 736L/m² rain per year.
On
a typical household roof, say 4m*10m you would collect about 30tons of water per year.
In a height of 10m you would only
get about 0,8kWh out of that (that is without losses in generator) per year.
Or did I understand your project all
wrong?
Best greetings
