Which problem are you trying to solve?

In many countries, schools in low-income areas can not provide technologies access to their students, which limited the
children future opportunities

How are you going to solve the problem?

Designing, building and demonstrated the viability of a low cost 3d printer that can be easily implemented in schools
with limited budget. Provide an open access to 3d print technology is an important

What is the impact of your project?

With this project we can include thousands of children in this new technology world, giving opportunities to have a
technical career in the future.

How can the project be manufactured in the OpenLab?

In this project 3d printers, electronic tools, laser cut, milling machines, electric and manual tools will be used.

Describe your project in detail

The main purpose of this project is to build a low cost 3d printer to provide equal opportunities for kids and students
living in poor regions, mainly in the ones in developing countries.
In the last years, new technologic devices, such as
Arduino, drones and 3d printers have been included in education as pedagogic tools.
However, due to the high cost
associated a significant amount of kids doesn’t have access to that these technologies yet. In the present project, it
is intended to extend this accessibility and in this way promote equal opportunity of learning.
BETAmini 3D Printer
can be used to print educational projects in classroom, using 3d model and plastic materials like PLA and ABS.
To build
BETAmini 3D Printer here it will be employed aluminum tubes, printed parts, stepper motors, Arduino controller, and
other low cost parts. It is estimated a cost lower than $50 for a machining with enough quality to give to children the
first contact with such technology.

Hello
Very interesting
It is true that 3D printers are increasingly cheaper but remain inaccessible for most of the
population of the South
And the democratization of access to business stays will really be a good choice for education
in these countries
You had already started to produce them ?
thank

A wonderful project ... What distinguishes the three-dimensional printers is the existence of copies of them low-cost
.. Using them in the process of education will make the process enjoyable and practical ..I suggest to provide a
mandatory curriculum in which students learn how to use this technology and it is also possible to conduct competitions
in this Area for all ages
